My art has travelled to my memories of rural drives, influenced by the architecture of the barns in Ontario and Quebec.
From travelling along county roads or highways, admiring the essential shapes of a traditional barn and the minimalism of the landscape that surround them, I have created portraits of these as landmarks of my memory.
Each barn I paint is from a reference photograph. I hope to honour their passage of time and architecture while using colour as the emotional dialogue.
